Cranes: Assembling intricate parts - slowly
Pictured Right: A section of shear wall rebar is being assembled and tweaked with the aid of a crane suspending it.
With the segment off the ground, workers can manipulate the bottom of the section to ensure its constructed to specifications.
Just this one segment and stage of rebar assembly required over half an hour of the crane's time - or 1/16th of the workday.
More of the same deliberation is needed when the segment must be hoisted on the site and then tied into position.
Most projects commence with only 1 crane and the preponderance of projects that start with 2-3 actually complete the bulk of floors with just 1 crane.

By December 10, 2022 the ATX Tower is on its 3rd Floor
Anamoly Observed
In just 33 days, one project:
- Finished forming its 1st above-grade parking level.
- Built its 1st above-grade parking level.
- Formed and built its 2nd above-grade parking level.
- Formed its 3rd above-grade parking level.
In 33 days, a project just down the street had:
- About 1/2 of its 1st above-grade parking level formed.
- Approximately 3,500 sq. ft. of the 1st above-grade parking level poured.
Conclusion
The ATX Tower was heavily photographed on one day, i.e., November 8, 2022.
It broke ground on March 15, 2022, to complete shoring, excavation, 2 sub-levels, 11 above-grade levels of parking, and 47 mixed-use above-grade levels by July 23, 2024.
The Republic was heavily photographed from November 2022–January 2023.
It broke ground on June 15 and had shoring drills in place by July 1, 2022, or sooner, and did not require serious shoring or excavation.
It completed 15 levels of parking and 29 mixed-use levels by November 20, 2024.
It appeared as though direct observation put The Republic off a normal construction timeline during the period of time direct observation was undertaken.
