Ted with his kids.

Q: Who on Earth finds it worthwhile to observe construction?

A: Someone with a distinct pattern recognition ability.

Spatial Awareness

Ted has a proven enhanced spatial awareness that is coupled with very keen eyesight.

This allows him to notice subtle changes in environment and patterns that most people don't notice because they're not obvious to them.

The Nexus Between Construction, Pattern & Spatial Awareness

Construction entails one of the hallmark features of pattern, i.e., repetition. The repeated tasks and stages on a construction site follow very ordered sequences predicated on logical progression. By observing the stages on a construction site, Ted can see:

1. How things are put together.

2. Where things should be put together.

3. When things are not put together where and when they should be.

As an aside, when you understand that every material in the physical world is sourced and harvested from the ground, watching heavy equipment, manufactured materials and people moving around in concert on a development to build modernity is pretty wild.

Spatial Awareness & Time

Spatial awareness is important for everyone for the purpose of forming plans. Spatial awareness lets people mentally simulate a process of events. People need to be able to predict how and when things come together.

For the purpose of this website, Ted can observe  construction tasks performed while observing the time required to complete them and then abstractly estimate the time it would take to repeat all such tasks to construct a whole structure. Using this awareness, closely observing crane operation, comparing industry contruction timelines to directly observed  construction, and taking photos of construction sites, leads Ted to the impression stated on this website: contruction appears to slow down when directly observed.

Delusion vs. Valid Perception → Perspective

When an  individual makes a claim that something appears to them differently than it appears to others, even when such a claim is supported by evidence, rational people would be wise to suspect the indiviual could be suffering from  delusional thought processes.

A delusion is simply a persistent belief in something despite there being no evidence supporting the belief and/or there being evidence and/or proof to discredit the belief. Delusional thought processes and/or ideations are a reliable indication of psychosis.

The claim, in this instance, is not being posited as either belief or fact; rather, it is being presented as a possibility based on extremely credible evidence and evidence that can be continuously gathered in a controlled and objective manner and subjected to the scrutiny of individuals accredited in STEM.

To unequivocally rule out any suspicion of Ted suffering from delusions, or any other form of impaired cognition, a rigorous neuropsychological evaluation and IQ testing was conducted in July of 2026 in Austin, TX by a licensed psychologist reffered to by a Texas state government agency.

WAIS-5 - Visual Spatial Index - Puzzles

An interesting thing occurred during the IQ testing.

For the first time in a career spanning over four decades, the Dr. administering the WAIS 5 puzzle went through the whole test, not needing to stop as is customary if consistent wrong answers are given or too much time to provide an answer is required by the test subject.

The test consisted of 26 puzzles and Ted, not thinking much of it, provided 26 answers in under 10 minutes.

The Trick

IQ tests can be very deceptive; such is the nature of something testing the ability of a mind to detect a problem and then resolve it.

The WAIS-5 puzzles can be put together in 2 pieces, but require 3 pieces for a correct answer.

The mind can be quick to see how 2 pieces could comprise a whole, but doing so creates a processing drag.

The processing drag matters when you have 30 seconds to see the answer.

Real World Application

The human brain can gather 1,000,000,000 (1 Billion) bits of data per second but can only process 10 bits of data per second. Source: https://www.technologynetworks.com/neuroscience/news/caltech-scientists-have-quantified-the-speed-of-human-thought-394395

Being able to rapidly process engineered puzzles with rapidity and accuracy translates to being able to see how complex structures are broken down into small parts and, conversely, how small parts can be/are configured to form larger ones.

As such, Ted has the ability to objectively see and perceive objects within his field of vision in greater detail than most people.

This enhanced ability, coupled with an enhanced visual memory, allows him to track and trace an object's or objects:

Appearance

Alterations

Condition

Similarity/Disparity

Progression/Regression
